Paper
& Packaging Recycling
Paper- what would we do
without it….. what do we do with it when we no longer
need it?
Severnside has the experience and expertise
to deal with all your paper and packaging waste. To help maximise
the amounts of materials recovered we have, through our Mobile
Compaction fleet, innovated a service that is dedicated to
providing recycling services to a wide spectrum of business,
no matter what the size of your waste stream. With container
sizes ranging from euro bins through to large walk-in
containers and curtain side vehicles, we can provide a bespoke
collection service to suit you – whether your recyclate
is loose or baled. As well as our container range we also
provide, where appropriate, a large and comprehensive selection
of on-site processing equipment
for use on our customer’s sites.
Waste paper and packaging form the largest single
proportion of commercial waste streams and as such the paper
industry is the UK’s largest recycler, yet almost five
million tones of waste paper are still sent to landfill or
incineration each year - often causing the industry to import
fibre to meet its needs. Every new tonne of waste paper recycled
will significantly reduce collection, transportation and disposal
costs.
Landfill and incineration are disposal
options that are not as cost effective as recycling, nor do
they make environmental or economic sense. The difference
between recycling and landfill has been further highlighted
by the Landfill Tax, which imposes a set levy for every tonne
of material buried. This levy is set to increase year on year.
