The Group's packaging activity is focused into three segments; Paper, Corrugated, and Plastics.

The principal activity of DS Smith Packaging is the production and supply of corrugated packaging, including design and distribution. As a leading UK packaging manufacturer, DS Smith Packaging can create corrugated and cardboard packing for any purpose or environment, from point of purchase displays to more heavy-duty product packing for transportation and storage.

Paper is produced at mills in France and the UK. Within the UK the St. Regis paper mills produce paper for the group, with the majority of that paper being made from recycled fibres. Such fibres are, in turn, sourced and supplied by Severnside Recycling- the groups recycling arm and the largest collector of waste paper in the UK. Accordingly, St Regis is the nations largest producer of recycled paper.

DS Smith’s Plastics Division operates not only across Europe but also in far off locations such as the USA, Dominican Republic and Australasia. From liquid 'bag-in-box' storage and dispensing systems to beverage crates, extruded plastic and various forms of insulation, DS Smith Plastics is concerned in the production and supply of plastic products to businesses and industry worldwide. The division also provides support services to businesses that make use of returnable transit packaging. DS Smith Plastics' UK logistics management services provide every facility to help businesses switch to and sustain reusable packing systems.
